Simply Junkin Market

One of my favorite things about fall time is all the fall events, craft shows and flea markets! It’s always great to stop and smell the pumpkin spice, but it’s also good to stop and support local small businesses and crafters as well.

The Simply Junkin Market is taking place Saturday September 16th, 2017 in Lawrence, Nebraska. They have a lot of great vendors lined up to bring you a wide variety of home decor, gifts for the holiday, jewelry, funky junk and much more. You can check out their Facebook page for more on the vendors and visit their website as well!

Let’s make 2017 the best year for small business owners and local crafters throughout the state. The more you can support local, the more you money stays local to support other small businesses!

Fort Kearny Outdoor Expo

I have a passion for the outdoor lifestyle; fishing, archery, target shooting, biking, hiking, walking, camping, skiing, plus much more.  If I could spend all day outdoors I could.  I enjoy telling individuals all about Nebraska’s wonderful state park and recreation areas.  Nebraska has so much to offer when it comes to being outdoors especially through Nebraska Game and Parks.  Trails, lakes, historic forts, fishing ponds, camping and other recreation areas.  You will always find something to do in this state.

On May 7th, 2016 Fort Kearny will be hosting their annual Outdoor Expo 9am to 4pm.  This is a great opportunity for individuals of all ages (yes, even children) to explore, learn and grow their knowledge of the great outdoors.  Experts will be instructing kayaking, fishing, archery, camping, cooking and much more.  Check out demonstrations, learn about Nebraska fish and wildlife species.  Also, you will not want to miss the Timberworks Lumberjack Show!  I hope to see everyone out there this year.

Box Butte County Fair

I spent last weekend at the Box Butte County Fair in Hemingford, Nebraska. Friday night; I watched the truck and tractor pull. This was not my first truck and tractor pull, but one thing I learned is the individuals who competed take pride in their tractors and trucks more than anyone else I have met. Saturday I enjoyed the fair parade and participated in a golf run. Saturday night; I attended the Love and Theft concert. The band know show to put on a good show and keep the crowd in high spirits all night! Sunday afternoon was the demo derby; it was a good time to see cars chase each other around in a pit of mud. All the events were fun, however the best part was all the people. The citizens of Box Butte County know how to make you feel as if you are family.

If you didn’t make it to the Box Butte County Fair this year, I hope you plan to make a trip next year. I know I will be back.
