School District 58 in Buffalo County was called Wild Horse. The first school there was made of sod and built in 1882.
Grant county was named after president Ulysses S. Grant. Long ago the county located in the sandhills of Nebraska was a great hideaway spot for outlaws and fugitives. Today, the county has more cattle per square mile than any other county in the United States.
