Indigo Bridge Books

I have been to Indigo Bridge Books several time throughout my college years to purchase books of interest.  It is a great shop with a warm and cozy downtown city feeling.  For the first time a couple weeks ago, I actually went to Indigo Bridge Books to try some of their coffee.  I wish I could have had time to stay longer, but I had to get back home.

Not only does Indigo Bridge Books have a great selection of books, but they have delicious coffee and a wide variety of gifts for birthdays, Christmas, etc.  I encourage everyone who visits Lincoln to stop by Indigo Bridge Books for their morning coffee or to take some time out of their day to sit and read.  Also, try to take a friend and you can battle each other in one of the many courtesy board games available for customers.

I definitely plan to visit Indigo Bridge Books in the Lincoln Haymarket more often whenever I go home to Lincoln to visit my parents.  If anyone ever sees me there, challenge me to a game of checkers!

Fort Kearny Outdoor Expo

I have a passion for the outdoor lifestyle; fishing, archery, target shooting, biking, hiking, walking, camping, skiing, plus much more.  If I could spend all day outdoors I could.  I enjoy telling individuals all about Nebraska’s wonderful state park and recreation areas.  Nebraska has so much to offer when it comes to being outdoors especially through Nebraska Game and Parks.  Trails, lakes, historic forts, fishing ponds, camping and other recreation areas.  You will always find something to do in this state.

On May 7th, 2016 Fort Kearny will be hosting their annual Outdoor Expo 9am to 4pm.  This is a great opportunity for individuals of all ages (yes, even children) to explore, learn and grow their knowledge of the great outdoors.  Experts will be instructing kayaking, fishing, archery, camping, cooking and much more.  Check out demonstrations, learn about Nebraska fish and wildlife species.  Also, you will not want to miss the Timberworks Lumberjack Show!  I hope to see everyone out there this year.

Prodigy No. 5

Prodigy No. 5 is a trendy boutique in downtown Grand Island.  This unique shop offers a great combination of clothing, accessories, home décor and much more.  The owner, Ashley, can help you with interior designing and refinishing furniture.  I stopped in on a Thursday afternoon at the beginning of October, I ended up walking away with a new Nebraska top.  Ashley was painting a table outside for someone else and just from what she had done, it looked great.  I have tried many times painting furniture, however it is hard to get the really good shabby chic look, but Ashley can certainly make it appear.

I look forward to going back to Grand Island soon and doing some more shopping.  Ashley was so nice to chat with and was extremely helpful in giving opinions on which top I should purchase.  I almost felt like I was shopping with one of my best friends and not just a store owner who wanted to sell me something to make money.  This shop is a true gem for Nebraska and I hope you will check it out next time you are in Grand Island.
