I am sorry that I have been a little out of commission and have not blogged lately on the places I have visited. I was recently offered a job in Sidney, Nebraska at Cabela’s and I start on Monday the 24th so I am working on moving. I promise to get my other blogs posted as soon as I can, even if I must pull an all nighter. Thank-you for your continue support and I look forward to producing more good stories soon!
For a long time I kept telling myself that I wanted to find a job and live in Phoenix after I graduated college. However, after months of searching and being turned down from jobs I have found a full-time working in Lincoln. I know it is not my dream, but in a way I believe God is making me realizes that dreams can become in different ways.
I was born and raised in Nebraska, I have never lived in a different state. Whenever I tell people from other states about Nebraska I always tell them a few fun facts. We invented Kool-Aid, the Buckle started in Kearney, Cabelas started in Sidney and Warren Buffett lives in Omaha. Now I am proud to say that I work for Cabelas; one very respected chained shops in America!
I believe this is where I was meant to be, grow and make a difference! I am truly excited for this new adventure and now that I work for Cabelas I am adding some new years resolutions. Learn to hunt and fish, and do more outdoor activities. I am all about being adventurous and trying new things. I am beginning a new chapter in my life and I am truly happy about it!
Thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way to get to where I am today!
Today marks the third straight day of working out with my shake weight and I feel pretty good about it! I can really feel the burn in my arms after just six minutes!
Today is the second day of working the Platte County Fair in Columbus, Nebraska. As much as I love my job and like earning money, I kind of wish I could have more days off in the summer. Sometimes I start to miss being away from my home and my own bed, but I don’t mind traveling to other places. Next week I won’t be far away from home, in fact I will be in a second home of mine. I will be working the Gage County Fair in Beatrice, Nebraska!
Today, I went to Walgreens and bought myself my own Shake Weight.
I had to come to Columbus today for work because I am working at the Platte County Fair until Sunday. So I had a few open hours and I used my shake weight for the first time in my hotel room and did some ab work outs as well. I could really feel the burn in my arms at the end of the 6 minutes and I am so excited to see what my arms will look in a couple weeks if I push myself to use it every single day, maybe even twice a day if I could.
I am really trying to work at this being more active and eating right. It has been a rollercoaster that I can not stay on because I seem to keep falling off. However, I believe in myself that the shake weight will get me to start exercising and being a little more active. Now, I just need to push myself to eat more healthy.
I am off to bed to get some sleep for tonight before I start a heavy work week with Nebraska Lottery.
So my work schedule for the Lottery was goofed up and now I am not working until Thursday. So I picked up a few hours at the daycare I work at occasionally. Things are about to get really busy through the next few weeks with all the county fairs that I have to work at, but the paychecks will be really worth it. I am excited for the a lot of excitement through July and August!
I need to do a few things tomorrow that I may not be able to do in the next few weeks:
1. Work at the daycare 6:30-11:30am
2. Lay out and Tan
3. Rollerblade
4. Catch up on some reading for my summer online class.
5. Clean my room and do some chores around the house.
These past couple of years between my jobs and school, I have learned a great deal on what it means to have a good and hard work ethic.
Here are few things I have learned about having a good work ethic.
1. Don’t ever be late- Things have to be done, in any kind of work place and some people do not have a lifetime to wait. When there are deadlines to be met then they need to be done. There are no excuses for things to be done, there are only fingers to be pointed when things are not done on time and those fingers will be pointed at the one responsible for getting it done. It amazes me that people spend more time in a day coming up with an excuse of why something is not done on time, when it would take less time just to do the work. The smart thing to do is to get it done and get it done early. This also goes for being on time, when you are told to be somewhere then be there on time. I am always an early person, I tend to show up about five to ten minutes before I am scheduled to be somewhere. A boss of mine once told me that “if you are ON TIME, then you are already late.” Again, unless of extreme circumstances and things that you can not handle then there are no other excuses for being LATE.
2. Plan, Plan and Plan- Always plan ahead, it is always better to be safe then sorry. An old saying is “what you don’t get done today, someone is getting done right now.” Plan ahead and plan in advance, don’t ever wait til the last minute. Things always seem to be more complicated when you wait til the last minute because not everything will get done. Time is of the essence and the sooner you begin on a project, the more time you may have will give you more time to change things before a due date.
3. Be Creative- In just about any job a person may, a good creative mind is the key to success. Don’t stress, if you may not have a creative mind, it is alright to ask for help from others to do things and get insights from. Ideas bounce off of others and I think we can all agree. Learn to work with others, but don’t ever let others steal your ideas.
4. Don’t trust others- Be careful about what you say to others and be careful about sharing your ideas. As I have said some people may steal ideas. You never know who, so it is always good to just keep somethings to yourself until you are ready to share you ideas because everything else is already planned.
***I am not saying that just because I follow these tips that I am the best worker ever, but these are few things I believe that help others to have a good hard work ethic in not only life, but the workplace as well. Afterall, what we achieve today will lead to successes in the future!***

As summer approaches, I am getting anxious to begin a whole new summer tour for my job with the Nebraska Lottery. I work as an intern for the lottery, going to all the major events around Nebraska. I sell the general public lottery tickets and give out prizes. I have learned more than I had expected from working at this job for the past nine months and I am excited to learn more and be apart of a great company for the next year!
As this school year comes to a close, I am walking away with many memories and a head full of new knowledge. Things have fallen into place for the most part and everyday I am more eager to the fact of growing up and becoming an adult.
